About WinMobile Lens

Congratulations, your mobile device now includes WinMobile Lens. WinMobile Lens is a virtual lens that can be activated using an associated hardware button. It is a very small application that allows you to zoom in any part of your PDA's screen in real time and providing superb magnified area. The magnified screen can then be scrolled around by draggin the stylus. Releasing the stylus will immediately close the application. The screen can also be customized to various shapes, sizes and zoom factors. You can also freeze it and use tap n hold to capture foreground, background image or exit. The magnified screen can also be docked on each side of your mobile device.

How to activate and use WinMobile Lens?

First thing first, associate WinMobile Lens to a hardware button. Once the hardware button is set to WinMobile Lens, in any application, push the associated hardware button to activate WinMobile Lens. Tap on the part of the screen you want to magnify, and drag around to any other part of the screen you want to magnify. If you do not select Tap N Hold to exit then when you lift your stylus, the application exits. Shall you select Tap N Hold to exit, the magnified screen will linger on until you tap and hold your stylus and select exit.

How to associate WinMobileLens with a hardware button?

In the command bar, select Help->options. Tap on Control tab of the Options property dialog. Select from the Hardware Button combo box to associate any button listed. The listed buttons are directly related to the hardware buttons on your mobile device. Button1 usually is the left most or bottom left button on your mobile device. How to select tap n hold to exit?

In the command bar, select Help -> options. Tap on Control tab of the Options property dialog. Check the Tap N Hold check box and Tap OK. When this option is on, the magnified screen will linger on until you tap and hold your stylus or a push on the action button. You can drag the magnified screen to any area of your interest using your stylus or alternatively you can use navigational button to move up, down, left and right.

How to change the size and shape of the magnified screen?

In the command bar, select Help -> options. Tap on Lens tab of the Options property dialog. There are two slide bars on the screen marked with HMax and VMax on the ends. Slide the gripper to any scale of your choice. Experiment with it to get the best view that you desire. Use the Restore Defaults button to reset everything back to original setting. You can also select the shape by pulling down the shape combobox.

How to dock the magnified screen?

In the command bar, select Help -> options. Tap on Lens tab of the Options property dialog. Check Docking, and then select Top/Bottom or Left/Right. If you do not select either one of these, WinMobile lens will assume non-docking (default) state. If you select Top/Bottom then when the stylus position is within the Top range of the Magnified screen vertical size, the magnified screen will be automatically docked to the bottom of the screen, and vice versa. How to toggle the border of the magnified screen?

In the command bar, select Help -> options. Tap on Lens tab of the Options property dialog. Check the Border checkbox.

How to set weight factor?

In the command bar, select Help -> options. Tap on Lens tab of the Options property dialog. Select a number from the Weight Factor combo box.

The number ranges from one to five. These numbers represent the zooming factors of the magnified screen. One is normal non-zooming state and five indicates approximately five times the original size.
